Our Goals

  • To be a national leader in promoting, exhibiting and demonstrating environmentally appropriate technologies.
  • To showcase innovative environmental management solutions that have already been developed in the Illawarra or Australia.
  • To provide a major tourism attraction for the Illawarra region.
  • To provide exciting educational and hands-on activities that will give visitors an informed understanding and awareness of how environmentally appropriate technologies contribute to a sustainable future.
  • To act as a resource for manufacturers, retailers and service providers of environmentally appropriate technologies to promote their products nationally and internationally.
  • To provide social and economic benefits to all sectors of the local community including business, education, research and tourism.

Exhibition Framework:

Exhibits may be indoor and/or outdoor. Where possible the exhibits will be hands-on and interactive.

Permanent exhibits will not simply be trade displays. However, commercial interests are strongly encouraged to provide exhibits that highlight their products within a particular field of technology or activity. The Exhibition Centre will also host special events such as seminars, workshops, trade fairs, etc.

Location:

The ETEC was originally part of the Engineering and Innovation Centre of the University of Wollongong. This is located in Coniston just south of Wollongong City (cnr Tate, Bridge and Miller Streets). Map.
